Borussia Dortmund announce Jamie Gittens exit for Chelsea

Chelsea concluded an agreement to sign the English winger Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, the Bundesliga Club said on Thursday.
The 20 -year -old should sign a seven -year contract in a decision that ESPN sources said that 55 million pounds Sterling ($ 75.02 million) costs.
The clubs are currently in the United States for the Club World Cup, where they both reached the scene in the quarter-final, and the agreement was concluded in Fort Lauderdale, with salary requests which were still settled.
Gittens joined Dortmund as a young player in 2020 in Manchester City, making his senior debut in 2022, and made 107 appearances for the German team in all competitions, scoring 17 goals. Last season was particularly good for Gittens, who scored 12 goals in 48 games in all competitions last season, including four in the Champions League.
“Jamie Gittens’ career is an example of the development of the best talents in Borussia,” said Dortmund Director of Dortmund, Lars Riercen, in a club press release.
“We discovered Jamie very early on, it practically signed it for free, have developed it permanently in our youth performance center, and also offered him playing time at the highest level with the first team.
“Jamie reimbursed confidence in himself with commitment, performance and objectives.”
Chelsea seeks to strengthen their left wing after choosing not to conclude the loan of Jadon Sancho from Manchester Unité permanent.
Gittens represents another important summer signature for Chelsea, after the arrival of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and João Pedro joining Brighton and Hove Albion.
