The English singer-songwriter Morrissey disconnected two New England programs, quoting a “credible threat” over his life.
The 66 -year -old interpreter was planned solo concerts at Connecticut’s Foxwoods Resort Casino Friday evening and the MGM Music Hall in Boston on Saturday, but rather canceled the two concerts at the last minute.

The cancellation was announced on Friday on Morrissey’s Facebook page. (Facebook)
“In recent days, there has been a credible threat to Morrissey’s life,” said his representatives in a press release on social networks on Friday afternoon. “By an abundance of prudence for the safety of the artist and the public, the commitments this evening in Foxwoods were canceled.”
In a later message, its representatives confirmed that the Boston show had also been canceled, saying that the tickets would be automatically reimbursed.
Cancellations come about two weeks after Morrissey received a death threat before his scheduled performance at the Cityfolk Festival in Canada.
On September 4, a 26 -year -old Ottawa man, identified as Noah Castellano, would have written on social networks about wanting to kill the former Smiths leader.
According to court documents cited by the citizen of Ottawa, Castellano was behind an article Bluesky addressed to Morrissey, who said: “When you are working at TD place here in Ottawa next week in the evening of September 12, 2025 around 9 pm, I will be present instead in the public and I will try to take advantage of you several times and to kill you with a very big weapon that I have the problem.”.
Despite the threat, the Ottawa concert in Morrissey took place as planned. Castellano, on the other hand, was arrested last Friday and accused of having pronounced threats to cause death or bodily injury, according to the citizen of Ottawa.
Castellano has since been released from the police custody on bail of $ 5,000 and the condition he lives in his father’s home near Washington, DC
It is not known whether Friday’s cancellations were linked to the Castellano incident, or if additional threats have been made.
Morrissey is currently on the world tour, performs more recently on Tuesday at the New York Radio City Music Hall. He should stop in Philadelphia next Tuesday, with more shows across the country before going to Mexico at the end of October.
