Woman killed waiting on rideshare outside Nashville bar on New Year’s

Nashville police are asking for help identifying the driver of a car that struck two young adult pedestrians, killing one and critically injuring the other in the wee hours of New Year’s Day.
The victim who died as a result of the hit-and-run incident has been identified as a 23-year-old woman. The pedestrian who is being treated for critical injuries is a 24-year-old man, according to a news release by the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Witnesses described seeing a red or maroon car, possibly a Ford Mustang, speeding and striking the man and woman at about 1:30 a.m. as they stood on a sidewalk waiting for a rideshare outside Pecker’s Bar & Grill, 237 Hermitage Avenue.
