Where to watch Purdue vs. Ohio State: TV channel, stream, odds, spread, prediction, pick

It’s now or never for Ohio State. The Buckeyes enter Sunday on the first four outs, according to CBS Sports bracketology. Opportunities like this, with No. 9 Purdue coming to Columbus, don’t come around often, and Ohio State should take advantage of an opportunity to boost its resume at home.
For all intents and purposes, Jake Diebler could very well be a coach for his job. Ohio State has a chance to be the No. 1 position in this spring’s coaching carousel. If the Buckeyes don’t make the NCAA tournament, Diebler’s time could very well be up.

Purdue vs. Ohio State: Need to Know
Outlook for wins above the bubble: Ohio State ranks 46th in wins above the bubble. This is right on the border of a general resume. Beating Purdue at home gives Ohio State a roughly +0.70 win chance over the bubble, since the average bubble team has a 30% chance of beating Purdue at home. With a win, Ohio State would move up to around 39th or 40th in Wins Above Bubble. This would easily be Ohio State’s best win of the season.
Will Purdue come out like this? Purdue is feeling a little wobblier after suffering its fourth home loss of the season, this time at the hands of No. 13 Michigan State on Thursday. Fletcher Loyer and Trey Kaufman-Renn simply need to be better on both ends of the court to help All-American point guard Braden Smith. Matt Painter preached that all of Purdue’s goals are still on the table. Are these seniors going to die hard in March?
Bruce Thornton’s rebound point: Thornton carries a remarkably heavy burden for the Buckeyes. The senior guard has scored at least 16 points in seven of his last eight games and eclipsed 2,000 career points earlier this season. Devin Royal is back healthy. Juni Mobley is back in the lineup. Ohio State could also bring big man Christoph Tilly (calf) back into the mix for this one. But Thornton is the head of the snake and Iowa removed him from the game earlier this week. Purdue will get Thornton’s best effort in its penultimate home game.

Ohio State has a +12 net rating with Tilly on the court this year. It drops to just +4.9 when Tilly is seated. If the 7-footer can return to the lineup, Ohio State is a much better fit with Purdue across the board. Thornton can take Smith. Mobley can handle the Rent mission. Royal or Bynum can rotate on Trey Kaufman-Renn. Tilly should do very well against Oscar Cluff. I think Ohio State keeps this in a home possession in a huge spot. Outside of Michigan and Iowa, Ohio State doesn’t get blown out very often. They’re going to be in this one for a while. Pick: Ohio State +6.5
