Former Georiga Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was referred to the Secret Service after staff believed she leaked President Donald Trump’s dinner plans to Code Pink, according to a Friday report.

Two members of Trump’s team say the relationship between Trump and Greene deteriorated so much that the White House told the Secret Service that Greene may have informed Code Pink protesters, apparently backed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), about her surprise fall 2025 visit to a Washington, D.C. restaurant, Joe’s Seafood, that she allegedly recommended, two sources on Trump’s team told Axios. The incident, marked by a chaotic clash between anti-war protesters and Trump, embarrassed the president and increased White House concerns about his security, the report said.

The clash came just a year after he narrowly survived an assassination attempt, and would be seen by Trump aides as a breaking point in his relationship with Greene, a former ally turned critic who officially resigned on January 5.

In response to the report, Greene wrote on X that the story was a lie and that she had told the truth about Trump and his efforts to leak files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

“That’s exactly what I said to this little WH tool who wrote this absurd and dangerous LIE about me on behalf of WH because they are mad at me for telling the truth about the President and forcing the release of the Epstein files. Now they are making up horrible lies about me!!”

Trump’s Sept. 9 outing at Joe’s with Vice President JD Vance and several Cabinet members was intended to show how his deployment of National Guard troops has made Washington’s streets safer, according to Axios.

Code Pink protesters reportedly approached Trump’s table chanting, “Liberate DC! Liberate Palestine! Trump is the Hitler of our time!”

For weeks after the incident, Trump aides tried to figure out how the group knew about his unannounced dinner plans, which were only shared with a few people, and the media had not been informed, according to Axios. Trump ultimately called for an investigation into the organization, saying “they should be put in jail.”

Her team met with Secret Service leaders to review the confrontation and its security, while Code Pink spokesperson Melissa Garriga dismissed claims that Greene tipped off the group, telling Axios, “That absolutely did not happen, to the point that it’s comical.” »

White House officials did not provide Axios with specific evidence that Greene warned the protesters, but they did share the basis for their suspicions.

Officials say Greene repeatedly called White House staff the day of the dinner to confirm that Trump would be visiting Joe’s house. Greene did not show up while Trump and other officials were there, which some aides said was unusual.

It is unclear whether Greene is under investigation by the Secret Service.

According to White House aides, Greene maintains friendly relations with Medea Benjamin, co-founder of Code Pink. She and the group are united in their opposition to U.S. military assistance to Ukraine and Israel.

After Greene announced in November that she would resign from Congress midway through her third term, she met with Medea Benjamin and other members of Code Pink. The two were later pictured together in an article on X on December 10, in which Benjamin praised Greene as a “strong anti-war voice in Congress.” (RELATED: MTG encounters CCP-linked group’s code pink on exit)

A source close to the situation further reiterated to the Daily Caller that Benjamin appreciated Greene’s stance on not sending weapons to Israel, but doubled down on her views that Greene’s friendship with Benjamin was not significant enough for the former congresswoman to have tipped off the organization.

“Marjorie doesn’t communicate with Medea Benjamin. Like on the outside, she doesn’t communicate with her. Medea would come into the office every now and then and Marjorie would say hello to her, but it wasn’t like they weren’t best friends,” the source said. “They’re not texting, they’re not calling. I can guarantee you there’s no communication between the two of them. That’s not something that happens, because maybe the White House staff saw a stupid tweet and took it and ran with it. It’s just disproportionate.”

In response to suggestions that Greene may have known about Trump’s schedule, the source stressed that the White House is the sole entity responsible for making the reservations. (RELATED: Paid protesters who cozied up to Trump disrupted Scott Bessent’s dinner)

“The White House made all these reservations, those are the only people who could have warned him. It would have been like a White House staffer or a crazy liberal who works at Joe’s and hates the president,” the source told the caller.

In 2023, the House Committee on Natural Resources investigated Chinese influence on activist groups, specifically highlighting Code Pink. The committee took note of a 2023 New York Times report alleging that Code Pink received funding from Neville Roy Singham, who has ties to the Chinese government.

The report said Singham “works closely with the Chinese government’s media machine” to advance the CCP’s agenda.

The caller reached out to the White House and the Secret Service for comment but did not receive a response prior to publication.

The caller also contacted Code Pink for comment, but did not receive a response prior to publication.
