Whoa! WaPo Drops Blistering Op-Ed on Socialist NYC Mayoral Candidate Zohran Mamdani – RedState

Well, it was certainly unexpected. The Washington Post on the left abandoned a devastating editorial on Friday by its editorial committee which destroyed the socialist mayor Zohran Mamdani and said that it would be “bad for New York”.

As we have pointed out, the political novice won a shocking victory during the primary of the NYC Democrat Tuesday, beating the former disgrace governor Andrew Cuomo and putting himself in a position of choice for the general elections of November.

Usually, the liberal cloth is a little more than a spokesperson for the DNC, so seeing them go after a hard democrat is an astonishing and reveals two things: 1) Mamdani and its extremist policies are really a danger to the Big Apple, and 2), the leftists are afraid at the moment. As I wrote earlier Friday, Mamdani could prove to be a “big and beautiful gift” for the GOP because we can and will beat the story that this guy is the new face of the Democratic Party.

Even for many LIBs, this permanent spectrum with its visions of socialist utopia, its major tax regimes and its anti -Semitism is a bridge too far.

The message agrees and they give the whole game in their title: Zohran Mamdani’s victory is bad for New York and the Democratic Party.

Zohran Mamdani, son of a Marxist and namesake professor of the Winner of the 1962 Lenin Peace Prize, is too communist even for the Washington Post editorial committee:

WAPO was just beginning, saying that almost all other Democrats are “better” than Mamdani.

Zohran Mamdani, the 33 -year -old charismatic who is now the favorite to be the next mayor of New York, might seem a breath of fresh air for a Democratic party who has trouble going beyond his aging establishment. In fact, New Yorkers should be concerned about bringing Gotham back to the bad old days of civic dysfunction, and democrats should fear that he will discredit their next generation of party leaders, who are almost very better than this democratic socialist.

Whoa. Tell us what you really feel, WAPO.

When I read paragraphs like this next one, I have the impression of reading Redstate and not one of the most on the left of the country:

Now, a man who believes that capitalism is a “theft” is online to lead the largest city in the country and the global financial capital. His signature ideas are “grocery stores belonging to the city”, no bus rates, freezing rent on 1 million regulated apartments and the minimum wage increase to $ 30. There is no doubt that they could strike some voters as tempting ideas. But, as with so many proposals from the far left of America, compromises would injure the people they are supposed to help.

Who are you and what have you done with the Washington Post?

Democrats are afraid because they realize that with people like this and the representative of Ny Dem Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, they have become too extreme even for themselves. Hopefully the outgoing mayor Eric Adams, who presents himself as an independence, or someone else will somehow remove a rabbit from his hat and will claim victory in November in the general elections, but that would not change the fact that an extremist with wild eyes has gone as far.

“Mayor Mamdani.” He has a horrible ring.

When you have lost the WAPO, you really turned the cliff.
