I just bought this Anker 30W charger + USB-C cable set for $10

I never have enough cables and chargers. Every time I need it, what I have is either used or mysteriously unavailable. Lucky for me, Amazon’s Black Friday week deals have already kicked off and the discounts include an Anker 511 30W charger + 6ft USB-C cable for just $10. Normally this charger + cable bundle costs $16, but Anker has slashed the price of the black and white options by 57%.

The only problem? You must be an Amazon Prime member for this price. But that’s not really a problem: If you’re not currently a member, you can sign up for an Amazon Prime trial for Black Friday shopping and then let it expire.

The Anker 511 is a compact 30W gallium nitride (GaN) charger, measuring approximately 1.12 inches thick. I bought this pack because this charger has prongs that fold down when not in use (much less annoying when tossing it in a bag) and it also comes with a 2 year warranty.

Technically, it’s compatible with any USB-C device, although its 30W power makes it best suited to smartphones and tablets (iOS and Android). You can also charge certain MacBook Air models. However, for most laptops, it will be underpowered and you may receive a “device is charging slowly” warning (or it won’t charge at all).

I grabbed this one on impulse, knowing that if I don’t dedicate it to my old but beloved Chromebook, I can hold it and give it as a Christmas present. I’m actually considering buying another one since it’s so cheap right now.
