Charlie Kirk murder suspect could face aggravated murder charge : NPR

Utah prosecutors reserved the suspect accused of having killed the conservative activist Charlie Kirk for aggravated murder.
Tyler Robinson was also arrested for obstructing justice and the release of the crime of a firearm causing serious bodily injuries, the authorities said.
The 22 -year -old resident of UTAH has been detained in a county prison since he went to the police as part of the assassination of conservative influencer on Wednesday during an outdoor appearance at the University of Utah Valley. Robinson is detained without deposit.
The Republican Governor of Utah Spencer Cox told ABC This week This Robinson “does not cooperate” with the investigators but that “everyone around him cooperate, and I think it is very important”.
Cox also said that Robinson lived with a roommate who was a “romantic partner” and that this person was a “man in transition to a woman”. On cnn Union stateCox said the roommate was “incredibly cooperative, did not know that it was going on and working with investigators at the moment”. Investigators try to determine whether this relationship had an impact on the shooter’s motive, added Cox.
Official criminal charges are expected to be deposited against Robinson on Tuesday. Utah’s County Prosecutor Jeff Gray said in a statement that he expects these accusations to be “consistent” with the preliminary accusations on which Robinson was arrested.
A person found guilty of aggravated murder under Utah law can face the death penalty.
The Ministry of Justice is expected to deposit distinct federal charges against Robinson. President Trump, who was a friend with Kirk, described the death of the activist “for a dark moment for America”.
The political organization that Kirk founded, Turning Point USA, announced on social networks that a commemorative service would take place for him next Sunday at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, which has the capacity to hold more than 60,000 people.
Investigators examine the messages registered on several shots of bullets which they have linked to the suspect, including possible references to politics and games and online culture.
Additional details on the survey could emerge this week, when the congress holds audiences with the director of the FBI, Kash Patel. Patel faced criticism for having published on social networks at the start of manhunt for Kirk’s Killer on Wednesday that a subject had been placed in police custody, before later saying that this person had been interviewed and released. Robinson was arrested Thursday evening.
