Nest’s New Smart Thermostat Adds Artist-Designed Seasonal Animations

In my opinionsI’m a big fan of latest Nest smart learning thermostatwith a large dial that displays animations of the weather outside, such as a setting sun or falling snow. Now the fourth-generation Nest thermostat has been improved, thanks to a partnership with artist Mathilde Loubes. The display now has 12 new animations.

The activities are largely seasonal but also allow you to pick and keep your favorites all year round. Designs include drifting fall leaves, snow falling on a pine cone, and a variety of fruits and flowers swaying in the breeze. There are also more minimalist options, drawn with few lines to show ornate symbols like a snowflake, wave or leaf.
The new faces of Nest should be available immediately.
In addition to these moving creations, Google is adding three classic thermostat faces, reminiscent of the first generations of Nest thermostats and their simpler look.
These new faces should be available now if you update your Google Home app and check the thermostat settings. I’m going to try it right away.
