Trump HHS Deputies 'Demanding' Data on Minnesota Childcare Program

President Donald Trump’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced that it is “demanding” that the state of Minnesota send over data on its childcare program. In a video on X, HHS Deputy Secretary Jim O’Neill and Assistant Secretary for Family Support Alex Adams revealed that Minnesota has “refused to comply with their federally approved state plan and regulations.” “We are stopping fraud in Minnesota, in Medicaid, child care, and welfare,” O’Neill said. “In our last episode, we encouraged you to tell us about waste and fraud at childcare.gov, and you did.” Adams revealed that in “early December” HHS asked Minnesota “for data” regarding its child care program, participants, enrollment, attendance records, and inspection records, among other things. “Minnesota has still not sent that information,” Adams added. “We are no longer asking, we are now demanding. Since Minnesota refused to comply with their federally approved state plan and regulations, ACF has sent a preliminary notice of non-compliance to Minnesota.” O’Neill added that HHS had given Minnesota “60 days” to send the evidence that HHS has “been requesting since early December,” and added that if the “response is insufficient,” HHS would “pursue full penalties under the law against the state.” Breitbart
