Xbox’s Developer Direct returns on January 22nd with Fable and Forza Horizon 6 gameplay

Microsoft’s annual Xbox Developer Direct event will take place on January 22 this year. The fourth Developer Direct will take a closer look at two of Microsoft’s biggest Xbox games this year, Forza Horizon 6 And Fableas well as a first in-depth examination of Reincarnation Beast by Game Freak.
Playground Games will launch the first gameplay of Forza Horizon 6 during the Developer Direct show, after first revealing that the next opus of the Forza Horizon the franchise takes place in Japan. Forza Horizon 6 players will be able to experience the neon lights and buildings of the city of Tokyo, as well as an open world set in various other regions of Japan.
We’ve been waiting to hear more about Playground Games’ other big Xbox title, Fableafter Microsoft delayed its release to 2026. Fable appears to be on track for release this year, which also marks Xbox’s 25th anniversary. “Developers from the Playground team will reveal the magic and mischief that awaits players in this new departure for the franchise, including a first look at stunning new gameplay,” said Joe Skrebels, editor-in-chief of Xbox Wire.
Game Freak, known for its Pokémon RPG games, will also present parts of its new Reincarnation Beast Action RPG. It will be launched in 2026 on Xbox Series S/X, PS5 and PC, and in the game you will play Emma, who will be accompanied by a canine friend.
This year’s Xbox Developer Direct will take place at 1 p.m. ET / 10 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. UK on January 22 and will be streamed live on Twitch and YouTube.
