Peggy Noonan and the Dangers of Uncritical Thinking

Elvis Presley, as most would agree, sang some great songs. But he was wise enough not to try to compose any of them. Peggy Noonan wrote beautiful words and phrases, but she should have the wisdom to collaborate with a wise thinker whose thoughts, not her own, could be expressed through her belles-lettres. In her attempts to appear thoughtful, writing rhythmically from an Olympian perch, she dispenses vapidity disguised as wisdom.
