#1 – Whoa: 2nd Circuit issues stunning ruling in Trump’s New York criminal case — by Susie Moore
But a funny thing happened on the path to the presidency… The Supreme Court issued a ruling on presidential immunity that had far-reaching implications.
Trump initially attempted to move the case from state court to federal court, but that attempt was rejected. But after the Supreme Court handed down its judgment in the case Trump v. United States In July 2024, Trump renewed his effort to send the case back to federal court, saying the Supreme Court’s interim ruling made the lawsuit against New York state “related to” his official acts as president, so the case was now dismissible and established “good cause” for its late filing.
U.S. District Court Judge Alvin Hellerstein rejected that new attempt in September 2024, and Trump appealed again to the 2nd Circuit, which heard oral arguments on the issue in June 2025. On Thursday, they issued their ruling, determining that the district court had not properly considered the renewed petition.

#2 – Ted Cruz has a good idea of when the Schumer shutdown is likely to end and why – by Nick Arama
As with many things with Democrats, this could backfire.
It says a lot about Democrats, too, if that is their motivation: They are more concerned about their own power than how such political games would affect people who haven’t been paid, people on SNAP, people who might otherwise be affected by the shutdown and the adverse effects on the economy.
This is entirely credible, given what we’ve seen from Democrats.

#3 – At least 200 terrorists are trapped in tunnels behind Israeli lines and guess who wants to free them? — by Streiff
Honestly, this story may be the most ridiculous Arab military report since Baghdad Bob reported the destruction of the US military at Baghdad International Airport. Given that the Israelis only launched a systematic campaign against Hamas tunnels last spring, the idea that a few hundred men would not have had the curiosity to contact friendly units on the surface, use existing telephone lines, or simply walk underground toward friendly lines is absurd.
As recently as a week after the ceasefire agreement, terrorists were still fighting Israeli troops underground, demonstrating that they had access to adequate food, water and ammunition. “A detachment of Israeli engineering troops was demolishing tunnels behind the withdrawal line in Gaza last month when Hamas militants jumped from a hidden well, fired an anti-tank missile at their excavator and killed two soldiers. »
A more plausible explanation for this episode is that Hamas left behind armed men to emerge and blend into the returning population. This would quickly bring the Israeli-occupied area back under Hamas control. Keeping the tunnels in operation would also provide a launching point for another assault similar to that of October 7.

#4 – Video emerges of Condé Nast office ‘confrontation’ as woke infantile staff earned their pink slips – by Brad Slager
This news coming from the offices of another publisher is therefore hardly surprising, and it now becomes more revealing. Perhaps for reasons related to advocacy, a video of this confrontation in the Condé Nast offices was released, and it shows all the dysfunctions we have heard about over the years. We see these employees behaving like insufferable, entitled scolds who disregard their boss’s directives, behaving as if they are owed some sort of audience. It’s astonishing.
The most brutally embarrassing thing you’ll see today: Condé Nast employees confront HR chief Stan Duncan over layoffs in front of his 34th floor office.
Four of the employees featured in this exclusive video of the confrontation were later fired for “gross misconduct.”
The whole… pic.twitter.com/Ze6Vmyz0iI

Most surprising is that Duncan did not coddle these eccentrics, which has happened far too often in these media whirlwinds. He ordered them to return to work, and after a while, he took appropriate action and let these demanding kids go.

#5 – Let them burn — by Eli Shepherd
Say what you want about cable news protests, think pieces, and panics. Elections have consequences. Democracy means giving people what they vote for. If our city Democrats insist on doubling down on big government solutions and cultural priorities that irritate ordinary New Yorkers, then perhaps the rest of the country should stop supporting these failing models. Let them have their socialist laboratory. Look at what this does to schools, budgets, public safety and the urban fabric. So leave.
This is not an invitation to despair. This is an argument for a strategic exit. For decades, conservative thinkers have warned that some left-leaning cities tend to adopt policies that discourage investment, increase crime and hollow out middle-class opportunities. If these places want to try an in-depth experiment with redistribution and centralized solutions, let them go all the way.

Editor’s note: Schumer’s closure is here. Rather than putting the American people first, Chuck Schumer and radical Democrats forced a government shutdown on health care for illegal immigrants. They own that.
