WNBA Power Rankings: New York knows it’s not time to panic

The New York Liberty was 9-0 and seemed to skyrocket as the title champions of the WNBA. But back on June 10, the problems were bubbling.

Strong Leonie Fiebich had just played his last Liberty match for a few weeks when she was heading for the Eurobasket tournament with Germany. Five days earlier, the Jonquel Jones center had undergone an ankle injury that would later be aggravated, which has cost him nine games so far this season.

Now, almost a month later, Liberty has a 12-6 sheet and had trouble playing regularly, for obvious reasons. With Jones – the MVP of the WNBA 2024 final – Out and Fiebich turn into the swing of things with New York, this team is not the same that started the hot season.

While the Liberty is preparing to welcome the Las Vegas Aces – a team that was more top this season than New York – Tuesday (8 p.m. HE, ESPN), Jones is again and striker Isabelle Harrison (knee) is questionable. After the 79 and 70 -year -old home loss on Sunday against the Seattle storm, New York coach Sandy Brondello said that freedom was struggling without the presence of Jones to fight opponents who change so effectively against them.
