Woman, 66, fatally struck by driver on Staten Island; 2 other women also hurt

A woman was killed crossing a Staten Island road when a Ford pickup truck struck her and two other women, police said Friday.
Nilsa Cruz, 66, was walking across the block of Castleton Ave. when a 2019 Ford F350 pickup truck driven by a 43-year-old man struck it near Barker Street in West Brighton around 5:51 p.m., cops said.
Two other women, ages 51 and 29, crossing the road with Cruz were also struck, police said.
Medics transported all three women to the University of Richmond Medical Center in stable condition, but Cruz died at the hospital, police said.
The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and was not arrested.
