Woman critically injured overnight in possible hit and run

A woman was found lying in the street overnight after a possible hit-and-run on the West Side’s Garfield Park neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., officers were alerted to a person in the middle of the street in the 3900 block of West Fifth Avenue. Officers found a woman in her 40s with multiple injuries to her body, police said.
The woman was transported in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital. The Major Accident Investigation Unit was investigating as police said it may have been a hit and run.
No one was in custody.
