Yankees’ Aaron Judge to be placed on 10-day IL with flexor strain

Aaron Judge has avoided the worst. After it was announced that Judge was out of Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies due to elbow discomfort, Tommy John surgery crept into the minds of Yankee fans everywhere.
However, testing revealed that the captain’s UCL is intact and has a flexor strain in his throwing elbow and will be placed on the 10-day IL.
It’s considered good news for the Bombers — considering the alternative — however, any amount of time without Judge as their season continues to crumble is not ideal. The Yanks expect Judge to return as a DH right around the 10-day mark and it remains to be seem when he would play the field again.
The two-time AL MVP is slashing .342/.449/.711 with 37 homers and 85 RBI this season.
This is a developing story. Check back for details.
