Toronto – The Yankees settled on their match starter 1 for the ALDS, choosing Luis Gil on Will Warren.

“I have the impression that he is ready for this and online and trust him to manage the situation,” said Aaron Boone about Gil with the Yankees working on Friday at Rogers Center. The manager added that he wanted to keep Warren as an enclosure option for the readings for now.

Gil only made 11 departures this season, while an injury in the spring has delayed its debut in season until August 3. He displayed solid surface numbers, recording a 3.32 MPM in 57 rounds. However, he fought against command, and he does not have the speed and the withdrawal stuff that made him the recruit of the year of the American League in 2024.

“I think it’s a question of experience and growth as a launcher,” said Gil about his withdrawal figures. “You find ways to get out of the guys, especially if you get good results, and you continue to evolve. This does not mean that it will not be there. This is part of the pitch.”

Gil added that he felt “100%”.

The right -hander faced the Blue Jays on September 6, granting a deserved race despite the four march and by attributing one in six sleeves.

Warren, meanwhile, sold eight points deserved in four rounds in Toronto on July 2.

Boone also said Max Fried would start match 2.

Bellinger ready to leave

Cody Bellinger was seen a bit of a box in the victory of the Wild Card of the Yankees over the Red Sox on Thursday, but he and Boone said that the Offdeur should be good for the ALDS match 1.

Bellinger, who received treatment, died the heel after marking the single fourth round of Amed Rosario.
