Zelensky reports 1,800 Russian drone attacks on Ukraine in one week
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of increasingly terrorizing civilians in his country, reporting that at least 1,800 drones were launched in Ukraine last week.
The Russian forces also lost more than 1,200 Glide bombs on Ukraine this week and launched 83 missiles, said the president on Telegram on Sunday.
“The Russians increase terror against cities and municipalities, to further intimidate our people,” wrote Zelensky.
The Ukrainian leader praised the country’s air defense. Specially developed interceptor drones have shot down hundreds of Iranian manufacturing Shahed combat drones launched in Ukraine this week, he said.
Zelensky said he had recently held a number of meetings with Western Partners to further develop these defensive drones.
Ukraine has been pushing a large -scale Russian invasion for more than three years, largely thanks to the weapons provided by the Western allies.
Russia has recently increased considerably night air strikes on the smallest neighbor and strikes Ukraine from the air almost every day.
Russia has launched its largest drone attack on Ukrainian territory, Ukraine intercepting more than 700 drones on Wednesday.
