49ers Player Admits He Sought Outside Help After Struggling in 2024

We cannot overestimate the importance of the mental aspect of sports for athletes. At the professional level, everyone has a basic level of athletic talent, and it is the state of mind, the attitude and the philosophies that separate mediocre players, good and large from each other.
One thing that athletes need to be great is the ability to play under pressure. Some are born with capacity, but others need help to develop this capacity.
San Francisco 49ers, Jake Moody was a mixed bag in his two seasons in the NFL. Statistically, he did not do badly as a recruit, although he missed an additional key point attempt in the Super Bowl of this season which could have helped the 49ers to win everything.
Last year, he sometimes fought and helped to cost them victories as they sagged a 6-11 finish. The faithful of Niners vehemently called him to be a bench and replaced.

Moody admits that he had to ask for external help to improve in his work.
“I spoke with a sports performance coach,” said Moody, according to the 49ers Webzone. “He really harass the process on the result. I can’t do anything to go back and change the past. The only thing I can do is focus on the next kick and focus on the process. It is as simple as missing on the field, to kick practice, to focus on my steps, to make sure that it is good, and not to think about something that could happen.

In 2024, Moody only made 70.6% of his attempts at the field. He only made half of his 20 attempts at least 40 yards, and fans of Niners had to face the peaks of blood pressure due to his incoherent kicks.
He missed a number of field trials on the field in fourth quarter, but during the pre-season match on Saturday against Las Vegas raiders, he showed an improvement.
While he missed a 53 yards in the second quarter, on the whole, he made five out of six, which included the attempt of 59 winning yards that he left.
San Francisco organized an open competition for Kicker’s departure work during the training camp a few weeks ago. After two pre-season games, it seems that the work may once again be Moody to lose, and coach Kyle Shanahan was satisfied with what he saw Moody on Saturday.
“I think it was a hell of a day for him,” Shanahan told journalists at his post-match press conference. “I thought he had kicked his ass and gives us a lot of confidence.”

The last 2025 team exhibition match will be on Saturday August 23 against Los Angeles chargeers. While some choose the Niners to miss the playoffs again this year, they hope to surprise people and perhaps even become pretenders.
To make it happen, Moody will have to become fresher than the other side of the pressure pillow.
