5 Shows That Recast Characters (And No One Noticed)

Sometimes, when the characters are overhauled with a new actor, this is a big problem. Just look at the reaction to the redesign of Geralt de Rivia for The witch TV show. People always argue in forums, and probably in the comments of this article.
At other times, a character is rebuilt and no one seems to notice it. Of course, we are not talking about redesigning a main actor here, but many of these furtive overhaul were for fairly eminent members of the distribution. So, did you even know these changes surreptitiously?

Bel -Air Fresh Prince – Ant Viv
I looked at the Fresh Prince to do its thing from the start in the 90s, and child, I never noticed that Aunt Viv – the mother of the family – actors who have changed. Janet Hubert played the character for three whole seasons, but the role was then refused and Daphne Maxwell Reid entered his shoes.
As a Screenrant Note, it is a redesign with a lot of drama behind the scenes. The facts are difficult to find, but in the end, it seemed that Hubert and Will Smith did not get along, and therefore someone else had to fulfill the role.
I think the two did an excellent job to redesign this show in adulthood, and honestly, I have no idea how I did not notice the change at the time.

Roseanne – Becky
Becky Conner was played by Lacy Goranson, then Sarah Chalke, then Goranson again. The scriptwriters looked into the gag by riding meta-whitegas on this subject. But given how Becky was never the center of the drama of the series, the public rolled with it. Of course, there is a deeper story behind the change and our Screenrant friends have a big deep dive on the reasons why Roseanne reborn Becky.
However, the funniest part is that most people who have just looked at the show did not really notice that Becky was suddenly a completely different person. I guess you could call it an exceptional overhaul, and an incredible work of Sarah Chalke, but to look at them now, it seems that some of us could not say.

Friends – Carol (the ex -wife of Ross)
Carol, the mother of the son of Ross, Ben, was originally played by Anita Barone before being rebuilt with Jane Sibbett, who played the role of the rest of the series. Screen rant has another excellent article on the reasons why Carol has been rebuilt, but I think that the most interesting thing here is that people only remember Jane Sibbet in the role and that the overhaul occurred very early.
To be fair, Carol did not really play an important role in history until Sibbet takes over, and the change occurred so early in the show, people simply did not record it. What is really crazy is that Sibbet almost obtained the role of Rachel in the show, but as she was pregnant at the time, it did not work. Although he does not go up the Friends Train for more than one episode, Anita Barone was a must -have of the sitcom and had concerts in various shows over the years.

Friends Follows a very a little united friendship group of six people living in New York because they find love, change their careers and discover all the ups and downs of life.
The ultimate racing joke in Prestige TV: Don Draper’s son, Bobby, was played by four different actors throughout the program’s race. The character has never been a major player, so the constant changes have slipped without disturbing the bad mood atmosphere of the Mad Men.
Our friends from Screen Rant have the full scoop on the reasons why poor Bobby had to be replaced three times, but they are mainly pedestrians. It is not surprising that no one has really noticed the changes because Bobby is aging during the show and the children change in a fairly spectacular way over time.

Game of Thrones – La Montagne
Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane was rebuilt not, but twice. Played first by Conan Stevens, then Ian Whyte, and finally Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (the strong man who remained with the role). Each version brought a slightly different physique, but as the mountain barely spoke and was above all an imminent figure of violence, most viewers just accepted the new faces (and body) without a doubt.
The screen diatribe covers the various reasons why the mountain has changed the actors. There was no real drama involved in the overhaul, it was especially going to other roles in the show and the planning conflicts, but later in history, the mountain never speaks or removes its helmet, so it doesn’t matter who was there. The three actors have done a decent job, and although it was a big fan and the whole spectacle more than once, I never noticed the change. To be fair, GOT has a huge Casting of characters and some overhaul.
