Country star Raul Malo reveals rare cancer complication, cancels Mavericks tour

The star of the country Raul Malo shared that his battle against stadium cancer of stadium 4 took a turn “, revealing that he had recently been diagnosed with a rare complication of the disease.

On Wednesday, the 60 -year -old Mavericks singer, who revealed his cancer diagnosis for the first time in June 2024, announced on social networks that he had developed a leptomening (LMD) disease. According to the Cleveland Clinic, the LMD is an incurable condition in which cancer cells propagate from advanced cancer with cerebrospinal fluid and membranes around the brain and spinal cord.

Malo explained in an Instagram publication that the Mavericks had canceled their dates in 2025 remaining, with the exception of two December programs, so that he can focus on his health.

“I want to update you all on my health, because things have taken a turn,” wrote Malo alongside a video in which he was seen sitting on a chair and playing a guitar.

While Malo shared that “all the programs in the future are canceled”, he has promised fans that the Mavericks “will continue to make nice projects, to publish live recordings, of goods, from Trovador and so on”.

The Mavericks did a tour with Dwight Yoakam during the Cosmic Roundup & Rodeo tour of the country’s star, but recently canceled or postponed several dates due to Malo’s health struggles.

“I would like to thank Dwight Yoakam, his group and his team for their kindness and understanding this year, and sorry, we could not finish the tour as we had planned,” wrote Malo.

However, Malo said fans to “hang on to your tickets” for the group’s two programs to the Nashville Auditorium Auditorium on December 5 and 6, noting that they “plan something special” and will soon share the details.

The Hitmaker “Dance The Night Away” also assured fans that he was “in any case alone or frightened”.

“I have an incredible wife and boys, a wonderful family, a team, a road team, a group, friends and fans,” he wrote. “I don’t even have enough words to describe the love and support that I get right now.”

“To my friends who sent me sms and messages, I want you to know that I have read them all,” he continued. “I cannot return them all, but your love, your prayers and your wishes have not gone unnoticed.”

Malo has also thought about how he plans to tackle his cancer battle in the future and promised to share more updates.

“We do not know what it will look like in a few months, but we are going as we did with everything else,” he said. “Steam pulde in front. Fight, collect, rest, repeat.”

“I want to thank you all for your incredible support through all this, and sorry for the cancellations, but we no longer have the choice,” continued Malo. “Find the kindness and empathy wherever you can. Humans are fine, even if you don’t believe it from what you see on television.”
