‘No survivors’ found after explosion in Tennessee, sheriff says

No one appears to have survived a powerful explosion at an explosives factory in Tennessee, officials said Saturday, as crews continue to recover remains from the blast site.
“At this time, we have not recovered any survivors,” Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis said during a press briefing.
Davis would not say how many people were killed in Friday morning’s explosion, saying “we are in the process of identifying the remains.”
“We can probably hypothesize, and I’m not even going to use the word hypothesis – I think we can use, well, I have to use that word, forgive me – we can hypothesize that they are deceased at this point.”
Davis said the cause of the explosion at Accurate Energetic Systems near McEwen was still under investigation and he could not rule out foul play.
“It could be days, weeks or months before we can get there,” he said.
It’s a development history. Please check again for updates.
