Woke TN Democrat Has Viral Claim About ICE Debunked After Dashcam Video Drops – RedState
A Tennessee lawmaker known for his ridiculous antics tried to make it appear that a state trooper rammed an anti-ICE protester with a patrol vehicle during a heated confrontation in Memphis, only for the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) to release dashcam footage that clearly proved that claim to be false.
The alleged incident took place on Sunday when hundreds of protesters took part in an “ICE Out” protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) policies.
As has been the case of late, tensions escalated between protesters and law enforcement, culminating in at least one arrest: a woman charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, indecent assault, vandalism, assault, assault on a peace officer and obstructing a highway. Other than that, she had a completely normal one. Something you would expect from a purple-haired charmer.
What really took off, however, were the claims of Justin Pearson, a Democratic member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, who accused a THP officer of “ramming” a marshal during the protest. And by marshal, he means a hiker who decided to wear a reflective safety vest.
“The fact that the Tennessee Highway Patrol hit a marshal during a peaceful protest in Memphis is disturbing, dangerous and disturbing, especially during these times,” the Democrat wrote in a Facebook post. “I have seen enough videos and heard from enough participants in the ICE Out march to believe that there needs to be an investigation by the TBI (Tennessee Bureau of Investigation) into the actions of the Tennessee Highway Patrol officer.”

Pearson then described the anti-ICE protesters as “angelic dissidents” and said “no officer… can restrict that right or endanger the lives of my constituents.”
Wait until you see how “in danger” this rube’s life was. How “hit” he was.
In response to the widespread allegations – which local media described as having gone viral – THP quickly released dashcam footage via its official Facebook page on Tuesday. The video directly contradicts the claims, showing no impact, blow or injury from the patrol vehicle.
In fact, it’s so incredibly absurd that it seems like a bad, low-budget sketch comedy show.
“In Memphis, social media posts claim an individual was struck by a Tennessee Highway Patrol officer,” THP responded on Facebook. “That’s wrong. Take a look for yourself.”

Even LeBron James thinks it’s a ridiculous fiasco.
“We respect and protect the right of people to peacefully protest. However, this right does not include access to active roads or endangerment,” the message continues. “In this case, the video clearly shows the individual standing in the front of the officer’s vehicle, lying down, then immediately getting up and leaving the scene under his own power.”
“At no time does the video show the individual being crushed or injured, despite the stories circulating on social media.”
Now, some of you may be wondering why make a big deal about this? Clearly this is a sad attempt by someone with the IQ of a potato to create a false story that he was hit by the vehicle. It would never have worked.
Here’s why: Does anyone remember that time Democrats took a single still image of Border Patrol agents on horseback trying to control a crowd of illegal immigrants and turned it into a huge scandal by accusing them of whipping people? No flogging took place, but that didn’t stop the media from covering this non-existent scandal in a 24/7 news cycle, and Biden’s DHS from launching an investigation and nearly destroying the agents’ lives.
Now, do you think if someone had taken a photo of this “marshal” lying on the ground in front of a patrol car, Pearson and his police-hating supporters wouldn’t have used it as evidence to try to ruin the officer? Fortunately, here the dashcam proves that the Democrat is spreading fake news. But don’t expect an apology.
Pearson, as has been discussed here on RedState, is a Democrat who proves time and time again that he is willing to stoop to any level for attention.
During a heated meeting of the Tennessee House criminal justice subcommittee on gun control legislation in March, Pearson accused Republican Rep. Andrew Farmer, threatening him by getting in his face and yelling to “learn when to shut up.” He had to be physically restrained and escorted from the room.

Pearson, you may recall, was one of the “Tennessee Three,” who led a “transurrection” in 2023, where unhinged transgender “rights” activists and gun control loons stormed the state legislature. He was one of two lawmakers expelled for his actions, only to be reinstated.
He would later compare his expulsion to the crucifixion of Jesus. If Pearson had his way, he would definitely compare the idiot who lay down in front of the THP vehicle to the man who stood in front of a column of tanks near Tiananmen Square.
