Corona Centennial football coach Matt Logan gets his 300th career win

It was an applauded moment and appreciated by high school football fans and California coaches.
Matt Logan, respected and admired for his vision, his creativity and his coherence as a chief coach at the Corona Centennial for 29 years, won the historic victory No. 300 Thursday evening when his team won a 62-20 victory against Eastvale Roosevelt.
He became the 15th football coach in state history to reach 300 victories, according to Calhisports.com. Jim Benkert in Sim Valley is the only other active coach of the exclusive club surmounted by the Bob Ladouceur renowned temple with 399 Victoires in Concord de la Salle.

The school tried to bring so many of its former players to come to the game to celebrate, with 18 graduate courses represented. Subsequently, Logan received a lot of hugs and a special trophy from the sports director Tony Barile. There was a large sign deployed with prominent “300 victories”, as well as special T-shirts and hats designed for the occasion. Its teams won 10 southern section titles. Huskies (5-1) hope to win an 11th when the playoffs starts next month.
“Something I will remember forever,” said Logan.
One of the humorous moments was Logan trying to recognize and remember some of his former players from 1995.
“I actually recognized most of them, especially those from the moment I started,” he said.
Logan, 58, began as a defensive coordinator in Centennial for two years before taking over as head coach. To show his versatility, he has become known for the chain speed of his program, without attack over the years. His team in 2015 remains the only team other than St. John Bosco and Mater Dei to win a division 1 championship.
“I love this city. I grew up in this city,” said Logan about her loyalty to the community.
Two centennial runners, Malaki Davis and Zander Lewis, led the Huskies Thursday evening, each rushing over 100 meters. Davis had four affected.
Next week is a league match against the league against Vista Murrieta undefeated.
