The NASA James Webb space telescope team published this image of the cat’s leg nebula on July 10, 2025, in honor of the third anniversary of the telescope. The webb Nircam (near infrared camera) revealed structural details and features not seen by the front: the young massive stars shake with gas and dust nearby, while their bright star light produces a brilliant nebula glow represented in blue. As a result of the living behavior of these massive stars, the process of forming local stars will eventually stop.
