The Vancouver Canucks are heading toward a rebuild, and that means veteran players with some talent and trade value are almost certainly on the block to be dealt before the deadline.

Evander Kane is one of those players.
The latest development with Kane? He’s allowed to seek a trade.
That’s what local radio guy Rick Dhaliwal reported on X on Monday:

Kane is 34 years old now, and his return to his hometown to play for the Canucks hasn’t really worked out.
In 51 games this season, Kane has nine goals and 15 assists. He’s a minus-18. He has his usual diet of hits (85) but hasn’t made the winning impact Vancouver might’ve hoped for from a veteran.
Kane has played 16 seasons in the NHL, adding up to 981 games, 335 goals and 306 assists.

He has already suited up for the Thrashers/Jets, Sharks, Sabres, Oilers and now Canucks.
It’s very possible Kane adds another team to that list soon.
