Kelsey Plum scores 23, Azurá Stevens adds 21 and 11 rebounds as Sparks beat Sun 92-88

Los Angeles (AP) – Kelsey Plum scored 18 of his 23 points in the second period, Azurá Stevens finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds and the Los Angeles Sparks beat Connecticut 92-88 Sunday to take a sequence of 13 defeats against the sun.
Connecticut lost against sparks for the first time since a home loss of 80-76 on August 28, 2020.

Rickea Jackson scored 19 points and Delerica Hamby added 17 points for Los Angeles (7-14).
Bria Hartley collected a summit of 25 points and the recruit Saniya Rivers marked a career in a career of 20 for Connecticut (3-18). Jacy Sheldon added 13 points and Aneesah Morrow 10.
Morrow scored inside to give Connecticut an eight-point lead with 1:46 to do in the first half, but Jackson made a lay-up, Julie German struck two free throws and Jackson made another bucket to do it 49-47 at half-time. Stevens scored eight points-including two 3 points-before Plum, crowned a thrust of 10-1 with a lay-up which made 57-50 with 6:47 to do in the third quarter and the Sparks never dragged.
The sun pulled 50% of the field, while Los Angeles was 47%, but the Sparks seized 15 offensive rebounds and scored 14 second chance points.
The Sun is launching a six -game home stand on Tuesday against Caitlin Clark and Indiana fever. The Sparks welcome Washington on Tuesday.
