President Donald Trump called Reps. Ilhan Omar, Democrat of Minnesota, and Rashida Tlaib, Democrat of Michigan, “crazy” Wednesday after they interrupted his State of the Union address by shouting.
âWhen you look at Low IQ Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, as they were screaming uncontrollably last night during the very elegant State of the Union, such an important and beautiful event, their eyes were bulging and bloodshot like crazy people,â Trump wrote on Truth Social on Wednesday. âInsane, mentally deranged and sick people who, frankly, look like they should be institutionalized.â
âWe should send them back where they came from,â he added.
The president then took shots at actor Robert De Niro, who appeared on MS Now on Tuesday and told Americans to “resist” Trump.

“They should actually get on a boat with Trump’s deranged Robert De Niro, another sick and demented man with, I believe, an extremely low IQ, who has absolutely no idea what he’s doing or saying – some of which is seriously CRIMINAL!” Trump wrote.
âWhen I saw him burst into tears last night, much like a child would, I realized that he might be even sicker than crazy Rosie O’Donnell, who is currently in Ireland trying to find a way back to our great United States,â the president said. “The only difference between De Niro and Rosie is that she’s probably a little smarter than him, which doesn’t mean much.”
The blistering message followed a highly controversial State of the Union address in which Omar repeatedly interrupted Trump’s remarks on border security and funding the country.
At several points in the speech, she shouted “You are a murderer” and “You are a liar” as the president discussed immigration enforcement and accused Democrats of cutting funding to the Department of Homeland Security.

Tlaib, seated next to Omar, wore a round button reading “F— ICE,” referring to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and also shouted objections during the speech. It also carried a message that read: âSUPPORT THE SURVIVORS FREE THE FILES,â an apparent reference to documents related to the late convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
Both lawmakers were seen scowling and expressing opposition throughout the speech before leaving the room early.
Trump’s message revives rhetoric that had already provoked strong reactions. In 2019, he called on progressive Democratic lawmakers, including Omar and Tlaib, to âgo backâ to their home countries â remarks that were widely condemned by Democrats and some Republicans at the time. Omar immigrated to the United States from Somalia as a child refugee and became a U.S. citizen in 2000. Tlaib was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Palestinian immigrant parents.

At one point during their outbursts, Tlaib shouted that âAlex was not a criminal,â apparently referring to Alex Pretti â a gunman shot and killed by federal agents amid the chaos of anti-immigration protests in Minneapolis.
Later in the evening, Omar and Tlaib left the room prematurely as Trump recounted the raid on Caracas that captured Venezuelan dictator NicolĂĄs Maduro.
Fox News Digital has reached out to Omar, Tlaib and De Niro for comment and has not yet received responses.
