Jacob Misiorowski is the talk of the All-Star Game. Why the Dodgers are partially to thank

Atlanta – Seven days ago, Jacob Miriorowski was only really known by the hardest fans.
And even then, it was far from all kinds of domestic goods.
“I do not even know who I am throwing,” said the Dodgers launcher last week, the Dodgers launcher last week, one day before lengthening against the recruit phenomenon of the Brewers Milwaukee who had only made four career starts.
“Does the guy who twisted his ankle on the mound, the guy of” twisted Histi-Berdi “?”, Added Kershaw, capable of recalling only a widely shared clip of Imiorowski to leave his debut of MLB a month earlier in the middle of five rounds without sure after having turned his ankle on the descending slope of the hill.
“I know he launches hard. I saw a few strengths,” continued Kershaw.
But, with regard to the reputation of 23 years, that was all – both for Kershaw and the most occasional observers of sport.
Then, however, came the game that changed everything – for Miriorowski, Major League Baseball and the conversation around this year’s stars festivities in Atlanta.
Last Tuesday, Miriorowski had his official outing party with a dominant gem of six heats, a round and 12 strikers against the powerful Dodgers – easily the highest outing of the nascent career of the young flame thrower.
A few days later, in a decision that amazed sport, Miriorowski was added unexpectedly to the National League Stars team – a decision immediately controversial given its only total month of service to the big league.
On Monday, during an All-Star Media Day event near Truist Park in Atlanta, the presence of Misiorowski always dominated the Midsummer Classic scenarios, especially after several members of the Philadelphia Phillies (who felt two of their launchers, Cristopher Sánchez and Ranger Suez, were more in the process of making a “joke”. And a blow of public relations by the League.
This was the first question, the Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, who will run the National League team after winning the World Series from last year, organized a press conference on Monday afternoon at Coca-Cola Roxy Theater.
And when Miriorowski took place on the day of the media, he was immediately strewn with questions about his inclusion, and what he thought of people who argued that he did not deserve to be in the game – in particular his NL teammates.
“I mean, they are not happy,” said Miriorowski with an awkward smile. “But they are not angry with me. It’s nothing that I was doing. So they were all nice to me. The clubhouse was good. ”
For all the visceral sockets and the viral reactions that the story of Miriorowski has generated in recent days, there is a good chance that he does not know when Tuesday’s game takes place.
Roberts confirmed that Miriorowski will participate in the competition, probably somewhere in the sleeves in the middle.
And although he said that the selection of Miriorowski, associated with the withdrawals of many other NL star launchers, required a “deeper conversation” on how the game could be improved, he added that he was everything to have made Misiorowski participate in this year’s event.
“So that this young child was named All-Star, I could not be more excited for him,” said Roberts. “It will be electric. Fans, the media, you will love it. So for me, it’s an easy answer, because if it attracts excitement, attention to our game, then I am all about.”
If it was not for the Roberts team, Miriorowski’s drama may never have taken place.
By entering his departure against the Dodgers last week, Miriorowski had an MPM of 3.20, coming from five innings and 3 ⅔ in the round against the New York dishes, and (despite his quick ball more than 100 mph and his nasty repertoire of launches) was nowhere near the image of the stars.
Even internally, he recognized, he was still comfortable in the majors.
But in this match against the Dodgers, Miriorowski rebounded after a Home Run by Shohei Ohtani by abandoning only three other strokes. He mowed through the offensive of the Dodgers at the head of the league with fast three -digit bullets and higher MPH cursors of the 90s, that the receiver of the Dodgers Will Smith called the most mean terrain in sport. And he emerged with a new feeling of belonging to the big leagues.
“This is one of those games you are watching on and you say to yourself:” OK, now we are going “, said Misiorowski on Monday. “Now it’s starting.”
Subsequently, no one praised the young right-hander more than Kershaw, who started his post-match remarks on Misiorowski jokingly: “I know him now, huh?”
And now, a week later, the rest of the world of baseball would do it too; With the dismantling of the dodgers by Miriorowski helping to put it under projector, he could never have imagined seven days earlier.
“I think it was only one of those things that when it happened, it is not really something that I did,” he said. “I’m not going to say no to MLB about coming to the game, so that’s what it is.”
