Legacy Media Can’t Handle It When Former Political Prisoner Serves Up Big Reality on Obama and Iran – RedState

Democrats and liberal media want to present Operation Epic Fury as a new war launched against Iran by the United States.
But an American and former political prisoner of the Iranians, Kian Tajbakhsh, delivered a bit of reality on CNN Thursday evening.
First, he explained that it was not the United States that started the war, but rather the United States that ended a war that Iran has been waging at various levels for 47 years.

Abby Phillip and Ashley Allison wondered if the United States was really at war with Iran.

“To simplify, I would put it this way,” he said.
“I don’t think it’s fair to say that President Trump started a war with Iran. I think President Trump wants to end a war that Iran started in 1979, 47 years ago.”
He then explained how the regime felt like it had been at war with us for a long time.
“In 2003 and 2004, when I was in Iran, working on projects at a very high level, I was talking with deputy ministers… going back and forth. I was at the Foreign Ministry in Tehran, where I met someone very high up, and he was half-sympathetic to the projects we were doing. But as I was leaving, he looked me in the eye and he said, ‘You, in As an Iranian-American, I want you to know something and listen very carefully. ” said: “We, in this building…[representing the regime]…we think we are at war with the United States. » He said at the time that it was a cold war, but it is a war nonetheless.
Indeed, he is right. The Iranian president declared in December 2025 that he was in the middle of war with the United States. Whether we like it or not, they have been doing this to us for a long time.
But the Tajbakhsh was not yet finished. He then explained how Barack Obama’s actions with Iran led to problems, as our sister site Townhall reported.
CNN’s Abby Phillip interrupts former Iranian political prisoner Kian Tajbakhsh and immediately cuts to a commercial right after he says this:
“You can draw a straight line from the 2015 nuclear deal to October 7.”

“What happened with President Obama was that, for better or worse – and I’m not going to debate this here – he decided that given the four big issues that have always been linked to American objectives with Iran, namely enrichment, ballistic missiles, proxies, and democracy in Iran, he would put all three aside and focus solely on the nuclear deal. Now, I’m not going to say it was good or bad. I don’t think not that it’s a good idea, but what we’ve seen, and maybe this is also controversial, and I think a lot of my liberal friends are going to hate me for this… is that unfortunately, we can draw a straight line between the 2015 nuclear deal and October 7th.
You notice the minute he dropped that truth bomb, host Abby Phillip said they needed to take a break. Was it too true for them? The Iran nuclear deal was ridiculous – that didn’t stop them. Ultimately, Obama helped support the mullahs through this. This emboldened them and their proxies and simply allowed their evil actions to continue.
It was about as far from President Donald Trump’s “peace through strength” as you could get.
Editor’s Note: For decades, past presidents have talked the talk and done nothing. Now, Donald Trump eliminates the Iranian threat once and for all.
