New material can collect clean and safe drinking water from the air

Climate change, population growth, conflicts and humanitarian crises are putting increasing pressure on the planet’s water resources. That’s why Norwegian researchers are investigating whether atmospheric water generators can be part of the solution. This type of water generator extracts moisture from the air using moisture-absorbing materials and converts it into potable water. But they must become more efficient.
