Drivers may see extra officers on busy state route today

Drivers may see more police in Montgomery County today.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) announced it will work with several law enforcement agencies on joint traffic monitoring on State Route 48, according to an OSHP spokesperson.

The enforcement operation runs from noon to 6 p.m. in Montgomery County.
State troopers will work with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Dayton Police and Englewood Police.
The partnership aims to reduce fatal crashes and end crime on local roads, the spokesperson said.
βIn addition, the initiative aims to raise awareness, educate and promote community transparency through road safety measures,β the spokesperson concluded.
