Justin Fields & pass offense remain a concern

The offensive of the jets throughout the training camp was affected or missed.
This week against the giants, the performance of the jets was the latter, whether during training or the real game.
Gang Green lost against Big Blue in the Annual Snoopy Bowl 31-12, but the results of the pre-season are non-consecutive. What is essential is what stood out, good and bad, with regard to jets.
Here are the dishes of this week of the second pre-season jets game.
Fields & Pass always offends work in progress
Justin Fields and the offensive of the first jet team released after a single series in their pre-season victory against packers last week. Although they were able to find the goals at the start of Green Bay, it was far from the case against the Giants.
Fields finished only 1 passes out of 5 for four yards, with its only completion at the TAYLOR tight recruit during the first training. After his pass to Taylor, Fields had three consecutive incompletements before the jets had to kick and waste a good position on the ground. He passed once during his second and last trip, which included nine racing games designed and two passes, of which fields rushed on five yards.
Throughout the summer, Fields had an unequal training camp. He sometimes fought with precision problems and clinging too long to the ball. It was also noted that Fields seems to hesitate to throw the ball on the field.
Against packers, Fields was decisive after taking what the defense gave him, finishing 3 passes on 4 and rushing for a touchdown. He did not display any of these attributes against the giants, who have a rush to the praised pass.
Fields finished with more yards on the ground (five) than passing. When the jets signed fields to a $ 40 million contract over two years in March, head coach Aaron Glenn said they wanted him to “play quarterrier” and build an offense around his talents, especially using his exceptional race capacity. But the results have been mixed so far.
“I think it’s top to bottom, okay, and there have been a lot of tops in the camp that I really like,” said Glenn about the game of passes. “Today, it was not one of these days, which was obvious, but listen, I still have a lot of confidence in what these guys can do because they showed me.
Fields had a hard time in the two joint practices against the giants after having dismissed eight times in two times in two days. He always learns the offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand’s System and tries to gain chemistry with his teammates. With the opening of the regular season against the Steelers in three weeks, the jets should hope that the Fields game will be better during the team’s pre-season final against the Eagles next Friday.
Press a precipitated attack at the start of the season
With the inequality of Fields throughout the training camp, the jets may have to rely on their precipitated attack to win matches.
During the second journey of the jets, they rushed on 47 yards and entered the range of goals by performing 10 of the 11 games. But their journey finally stalled when the Fields pass on a game of 3 and 10 was incomplete, and they were satisfied with a 38 yards by Nick Folk.
Since Glenn became head coach, the jets have sought to settle as a dominant football team, focusing on a heavy approach. They have invested massively in their offensive line in recent years, which should be one of the forces of their team. In addition, Fields is a dynamic runner, one of the three -quarters (Michael Vick and Lamar Jackson) who rushed for more than 1,000 yards in one season.
Although it seems that their temporary attack is a work in progress, the play on the ground of the jets may have to carry the charge, especially given their early timetable. The four out of six opponents of the jets to start the season made the playoffs last year (Steelers, Bills, Buccaneers and Broncos). There could therefore be a lot of Breece Hall, Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis while Fields continues to learn the offense.
“I thought our guys had done a very good job,” said Glenn about the precipitation of the ball. “Dude, we know that if we can simply be silent and bring our guys to run the ball, it’s an advantage for us. But just overall, I mean, it was just not good enough.”
Secondary had trouble with Gardner
No Gardner sauce was a big problem for the secondary of jets early against the giants. Russell Wilson completed 4 passes out of 7 for 108 yards, including a deep pass of 80 yards with beautiful collins. André Cisco and Qwan’ter Stiggers were on the cover but could not prevent the connection of Wilson to Collins.
This has set up a touch of a singletary devin rod, which gave the giants an advance of 7-0.
Gardner did not play due to the pain of the calf. He also missed the joint practice on Wednesday due to the injury. The injury does not seem serious, but Gardner is one of the best players in the jets, so there is always a concern.
The problem could be safe for jets. Tony Adams was set up last season after struggling. Cisco signed with the jets after the jaguars allowed him to walk in a free agency.
Stigengers also continued to fight most of the night, but he chose Wilson in the goals area for a touch in the second quarter.
Young WRs continue to stand out
There are several questions about the body of jets from Garrett Wilson outside. However, they have interesting and talented players who could make the final list.
Among them is Arian Smith, who was the choice of jets in fourth round in Georgia. He entered the league with drop problems, but Smith finished with two catches for 39 yards. The jet coaches were impressed by Smith during the training camp. But he had a drop against the giants, it is therefore an area which he will have to continue to clean.
The free agent not drafted Brandon Smith and Quentin Skinner were also impressive. Brandon Smith finished with five catches for 48 yards. Skinner scored the only affected jets of the night after keeping a hand in a hand at the back of the goal area for a touchdown.
Xavier Gipson left before half-time due to a shoulder injury. Due to the uncertainty in the receiver, the jets will have difficult decisions before Cutdown Day, which is on August 26.
