Jerusalem – The Israeli army struck the Nasser hospital at least four times during its morning attack against the south of Gaza which killed 22 people earlier this week, according to a newly obtained NBC news analysis.

The conclusions come from Reuters – including the cameraman Hussam Al -Masri was one of the five journalists killed Monday during Israeli strikes – said the Israeli army was “fully aware” that his team and other journalists operated from the southern Gaza hospital.

The agency told NBC News on Wednesday that it had offered live daily flows to its customers of this place in recent weeks, but earlier in the war, had ceased to share the exact locations of its teams “after many journalists were killed in FDI strikes”.

This initially seemed to be a strike of “double tap” – a tactic in which a target is affected, then struck again often after the first stakeholders rushed – was actually more extensive.

The live flow from Al-Masri freezes at 10:08 a.m. local time, but there is no video of the first strikes. The video of the consequences of these tubes shows the smoke which escapes from two distinct staircases: the one where journalists worked and a second, at the corner of the street next to the intensive care unit.

A few minutes later, at 10:17 am, after journalists and the first speakers arrived on the stairs used by journalists – including men carrying a Gurney seen on video with clearly identifiable high visibility vests – a second strike.

The video obtained and verified by NBC News shows two additional projectiles hitting the staircase from the fourth floor to milliseconds from each other. Smoke plumes can be seen from all affected areas.

Nr Jenzen-Jones, director of the Intelligence Society Weapons, Armament Research Services, said that the video of the incident after the first strike highlighted a direct shooting weapon, with damage “compatible with that expected of a projectile with a cannon from tank top to several factories”.

The video of the second strike also seemed to show two projectiles, he said. Their flight model and “a brilliant program … more likely to be a tracer” suggested that they came from tank tours, said Jenzen-Jones. Timing, he added, implies that “two tanks may have shot the target simultaneously”.

Israeli defense forces did not respond to a request for comments on the latest revelations. The IDF has not provided additional information to NBC News since it published the preliminary results on Tuesday.

In his initial investigation, the FDIs said that the troops had identified a camera at the “Hamas” hospital which was used to observe its activity. He added that “the troops worked to eliminate the threat by hitting and engaging the camera”.

But according to several eyewitnesses on the ground, including journalists and doctors from the hospital, there was only one camera positioned on the hospital roof: the Reuters camera of Al-Masri.

Reuters said on Thursday that “Israel was fully aware that Reuters and several other press organizations operated at Nasser hospital”.

Journalist Ibrahim Qanan, who reported live on Alghad TV at the time of the second strike, told NBC News that “Reuters and AP have a specific location, the highest location”.

Mohammed Saqer, director of nursing at Nasser hospital, said on Wednesday that the Israeli army “could have called us” if he had problems, saying that “the FDIs know our figures”.

“We could just have just removed the camera,” he said.

A few hours after the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel “deeply regrets the tragic incident”.

The Israeli army, which did not provide evidence to support the assertions that Hamas run a camera on the hospital roof or not aim for the multiple strikes of the establishment, added that an investigation had been ordered in “several shortcomings”, including the “authorization process” before the attack.

Bassem Naim, a senior Hamas official, denied that the group had a camera in the region.

The video of the consequences showed that smoke increases and damage to the two staircases.

Dr. Osama Asfour, a member of the board of directors of Nasser Medical Complex, said that the strike had struck the area around the USI, and that the operating rooms had so much damage that the hospital had been forced to stop surgeries for the day.

“The targeting on the north side has led to the disruption of the electric line, water and communications, causing destruction within surgery rooms and causing interrupted day operations,” said Asfour.

Molly Hunter reported to Jerusalem, and Matthew Mulligan and Freddie Clayton brought in London.
