A Russian drone strike on Odesa kills a married couple and injures 17 other people, Ukraine says

Kyiv, Ukraine (AP) – Two people died and at least 17 others were injured while Russian drones hit night in the south of the Ukrainian Port city of Odesa, Ukrainian authorities announced on Saturday.

A drone struck a residential block of the city, causing three -storey damage and trapping residents, said emergency services. The two killed in the attack were a married couple, according to the regional governor Oleh Kiper, who added that three children were among the injured.

There was no immediate comment from Moscow. According to the Ministry of Defense of Russia, more than 40 Ukrainian drones were slaughtered overnight and Saturday morning, in western Russia and the Crimea occupied by the Kremlin.

Long -range drone strikes were a characteristic of war, now in its fourth year. The race by both parties to develop more and more sophisticated and mortal drones transformed war into a testing field for new weapons.
