Top Trump Aide Shares Ominous Post About ‘Indefinite’ Presidential Terms – DNyuz

At least one White House official apparently feels inspired by El Salvador’s decision to end the limits of the presidential mandate.
The party of the new ideas in power of President Nayib Bukele voted massively to modify the constitution of the country, paving the way for Bukele to remain indefinitely in power, reported Reuters.
The chief of staff of the White House, Dan Scavino, shared an AP link with the news of the approval by El Salvador of the “indefinite presidential re-election” and wrote Thursday in an article on social networks, “what to see the heads explode? CC: @realdonaldtrump ”.
He also added an emoji of a thinking and pointing his finger to make good measure.

It was not the first time that Trump’s loyalists have launched the idea of ignoring the requirements of the American Constitution on the limits of the presidential term – or expressed their admiration for the authoritarian Bukele regime.
The 22nd amendment to the American Constitution explicitly says that “no one will be elected to the president’s office more than twice”.
Maga Loyalists nevertheless called Trump to present himself to the re -election in 2028, and his new appointed to the Federal Appeal bench, Emil Bove, refused during his confirmation process of the Senate to exclude the support of another race.

The Senate Republicans confirmed Bove – who briefly told government lawyers to ignore legal decisions while being the Assistant Assistant Assistant of Trump – to a life appointment.
The Daily Beast contacted the White House to comment.
Bukele won the re -election last year in a landslide victory, even if the constitution of the country previously only allowed five -year presidential conditions. During his first mandate, he had excited the courts with loyalist judges, which allowed him to run for a second term, according to Reuters.

After his victory in 2024, his opponents feared revising the Constitution and trying to govern for life like Daniel Ortega from Nicaragua, which has been in power since 2007, Reuters reported.
Trump was an open admirer of Bukele’s authoritarianism, the appellant “a hell of president” at an April meeting at the Oval Office.
The popularity of 42 years comes from its massive security repression, which almost eliminated the violence of gangs and the extortion of small businesses in what was previously one of the most dangerous countries in Latin America.
His strategy consisted in suspending civil liberties and imprisoning more than 75,000 salvadoran without any accusation in the famous MEGA Prison Cecot in the country, where prisoners are regularly beaten and are not allowed to have leisure, education or even access to a legal advisor.
There is also evidence that he secretly concluded an agreement with MS-13 during the first years of his presidency, offering managers of gangs money and power in exchange for votes and a reduction in homicide rates, Propublica reported in June.
The Trump administration expelled certain migrants to the Cecot Supermax, and it has expressed a wish for local criminals to be the next ones.

Bukele benefits from an almost total control of the El Salvador Legislative Assembly, which voted 57-3 to eliminate the limits of the terms.
“Today, democracy has died in Salvador,” said the opposition legislator Marcela Villatoro, of the National Republican Alliance.
Trump does not have the figures to modify the American Constitution, which requires two thirds of majority votes in the American House and the Senate, or for two thirds of the State’s legislatures to request a constitutional agreement.
But he has already shown a desire not to take into account what is written in the Constitution.
In January, Trump signed a decree declaring that immigrant children are not entitled to American citizenship despite the 14th amendment to the guarantee of the Constitution that “all people born … in the United States, and subject to their competence, are citizens of the United States”.
A federal court of appeal ruled last month that the decree was illegal.
