A University of Kentucky cheerleader is accused of hiding a dead baby in closet

A 21 -year -old athlete from Kentucky University was arrested and accused of hiding her dead baby, wrapped in a towel, in a trash bag in a cupboard to hide the recent birth, police announced.

Laken Ashlee Snelling, who declared a spokesperson for Univeristy, was a senior and a member of the competitive joy stunt team, should be accused of having hidden the birth of an infant, falsification of physical evidence and abuse of a corpse, according to a police quote.

She was arrested on Sunday and reserved for the County County detention center, Lexington, Kentucky, police announced in a statement.

It is not clear if Snelling has a lawyer. The State Department of Public Defense, which provides certain defendants with legal representation, did not immediately respond to a request for information on Monday evening.

Lexington police arrested the Snelling quote, obtained by the NBC Wlex subsidiary of Lexington, the states police were sent to his residence on Wednesday morning after receiving a report that a deceased child was in a closet.

“The infant was located in a towel inside a black trash bag bag,” said the quote.

Police said Snelling agreed to be questioned and told the police that she had given birth and tried to hide evidence from birth.

The Coroner’s office of the County Fayette investigates the cause of the death of the infant, the police said.
