The stadium by the lake of Northwestern could qualify Evanston, in Illinois, as the windy city gave the strong gusts which changed the trajectory of the passes.
The quarter of Oregon, Dante Moore, who spent his first year season with the Bruins, compared the experience at his high school stadium in Detroit, who also bordered the Great Lakes.
“Going out in the warm-up was like,” Holy S—, it was windy “,” said Moore, who made 16 of the 20 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown with an interception during the 34-14 Ducks victory over the Wildcats earlier this month. “I look at the coach [Dan] Lanning and coach Lanning said: “It’s time to let him tear up today. “”
So, what is a native in southern California like Iamaleava is supposed to do to prepare?
“I don’t really think you can do anything to prepare for it when you are here,” said Iamaleava, referring to hot temperatures and calm winds. “I played in many windy games, that’s for sure, and I made sure to go about the speed of the ball and to make sure that the spiral is right, you know, to turn through the wind.”
