– Chelsea lead in race to sign AZ Alkmaar prodigy Kees Smithaccording to iNews. With Newcastle United and Manchester United also keen to sign the 19-year-old midfielder, Chelsea were quick to make contact with the player’s camp. Kees’ transfer is valued at around ÂŁ25 million, although it is unclear whether Chelsea would be willing to fork out such a sum in January. Newcastle, on the other hand, are definitely mulling a move for the Netherlands international next month.
– Chelsea and Manchester United accelerate efforts to sign Sunderland midfielder Noah Sadikisays Sky Switzerland. The Congolese international is seen by United as a cheaper alternative to the Brighton & Hove Albion star Carlos Balebawhose transfer is valued at over £100 million, and replacing Kobbie Mainoo. Sadiki, 20, only joined Sunderland from Union SG in July for around £15m, so he would be available for much less.
– Manchester City edged out Liverpool in the race to sign the Bournemouth winger Antoine Sémenyo next month, according to TEAMtalk. Semenyo, 25, is wanted by many Premier League clubs, with Spurs also preparing a bid. However, City are best placed to sign him and they would have no difficulty paying his £65million release clause. Personal conditions should also not constitute an obstacle during a future transfer.
– Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City have the RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande in the crosshairs, according to Sky Germany. Diomande, 19, is under contract at Leipzig until June 2030, having joined the German side in the summer. However, the club would be ready to sanction his departure if an offer above 100 million euros arrives. As things stand, no concrete discussions have taken place with any Premier League team, but that could all change next month. So far this season, the Ivory Coast international has scored six goals in 12 Bundesliga appearances.
– Tottenham Hotspur winger Brennan Johnson is on Crystal Palace’s shortlist for January, reports The Telegraph. Johnson has struggled for game time in recent times, potentially opening the door to a shocker for last season’s FA Cup winners. Palace boss Oliver Glasner expected to do without his winger Ismaila Sarr for the next few weeks, since he must play the CAN with Senegal, but Spurs boss Thomas Frank could block any decision by Johnson if he does not find a replacement.
