The Ministry of Justice said on Tuesday that he was in contact with a lawyer from Ghislaine Maxwell, a long -standing partner of the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, to try to organize a meeting with her in the coming days. President Trump said he thought that development “seemed appropriate”, although he also claimed to be more learning.

The Sub -Corner General Todd Blanche has announced the plan on social networks, saying that the ministry is looking for information from Maxwell – which is serving a sexual traffic duration – as part of its quest to discover “all credible evidence” in the Epstein case.

Trump, who was once friends with Epstein, faces a reaction from supporters who wish more information published on the crimes of the financial in disgrace and his death in 2019 by suicide in prison.

Trump rejected outcry like a politically motivated “witch hunt” of his program. Asked about the most recent development on Tuesday, he told journalists: “I’m not really too much.”

His comments to journalists came as he met President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of the Philippines on commercial issues. After the meeting, Trump announced on social networks that importers of goods from the Philippines will face a rate of 19%, while American exports to the country will not face any price.

Trump spent most of his time in the question session and answers from the Oval Office against former President Barack Obama and other democratic personalities. Trump’s head of the spy, Tulsi Gabbard, recently published documents which, according to her, show that Obama officials “manufactured and politicized information” on the Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

“This is the most incredible thing I think I have never read. So you should take a look at that and stop talking about nonsense,” Trump told journalists – the “absurdity” referring to the controversy of Epstein.

Trump said he was “time to continue people” as part of his allegations concerning the 2016 elections.

Obama’s office has published a rare response, describing Trump’s statements as “scandalous” and noting that conclusions on Russian interference in the 2016 elections had been widely accepted. “These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempted distraction,” said Obama spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush, in the statement.

Congress Republicans were also faced with Epstein’s question. Chamber Mike Johnson, R-La., Announced Tuesday that the room would end up working a day earlier, canceling the votes later in the week.

This means that members will leave the city for an annual recess in August without a new confrontation on Epstein. The change of the calendar was announced after repeated clashes among the Republicans on the files, including a dead end of the powerful committee of the Chamber’s rules for an effort by the Democrats to force additional votes on the Epstein affair.
