Acting NASA Administrator Duffy Selects Exploration-Focused Associate Administrator
The interim administrator of NASA, Sean P. Duffy, has appointed Amit Kshatriya as a new associate administrator of NASA, the best role of the agency’s public service.
20 -year -old NASA veteran, Kshatriya was recently the deputy in charge of the Moon to Mars program in the direction of the Exploration Systems Development Mission (ESDMD) at the NASA headquarters in Washington. In this role, Kshatriya was responsible for planning programs and the implementation of crew missions on the Moon through the Artemis campaign in preparation for the first mission of humanity in Mars.
The promotion of Kshatriya in the best ranks of NASA puts the return of America to the Moon through Artemis to the very heart of our agency. This decision illustrates the seriousness of President Donald J. Trump and Duffy about returning the Americans to the moon and before China.
“Amit spent more than two decades as a civil servant dedicated to NASA, working to advance American leadership in space. Under his direction, the agency will trace a daring vision to return to the moon during the mandate of President Trump,” said Duffy. “The unwavering knowledge, integrity and commitment of Amitier to a new era of exploration make it only qualified to direct our agency as an associate administrator. Amit, we will continue to push the limits of what is possible. ”
The promotion of Kshatriya also indicates how the Trump administration considers the commercial space as an American economic engine. By putting a tested leader at the top, NASA should associate even more closely with the booming space industry in America, to develop the space economy and to ensure that the future of exploration is built in the United States.
Born in Wisconsin, studied at the California Institute of Technology and the University of Texas in Austin, Kshatriya is one of only 100 people in history to serve as director of mission control flights. It provides an unrivaled operational and strategic experience to the NASA management team.
