Al Jazeera to host Iranian FM, Hamas leader, and CCP propagandist at its forum in February

Among the speakers listed is Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal, head of the terrorist group abroad.
The Al Jazeera media network is expected to host Iran’s foreign minister, a senior Hamas leader and an Erdogan propagandist at its next forum on February 7.
The forum will be held from February 7 to 9, 2026 in the capital Doha and is titled “The Palestinian Cause and the Regional Balance of Power in the Context of an Emerging Multipolar World.”
Keynote speakers include figures such as Abbas Araghchi, foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a state known for human rights violations, extrajudicial killings and support for terrorist groups. His appearance will come just weeks after the major crackdown in Tehran against Iranian protesters, during which at least 30,000 people were killed by the regime.
Another keynote speaker is Burhanettin Duran, who heads Turkey’s Communications Directorate and is a key ally of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. As part of his propagandist role within the Turkish government, Duran oversees media control, disinformation and the repression of journalists.
Victor Gao, vice president of the Center for China and Globalization, is also expected to speak. Gao is a prominent apologist for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and is known for defending the camps in Xinjiang and the repression in Hong Kong. In 2019, he defended the detention of around a million Uyghur Muslims in China’s Xinjiang province.

Hamas leadership at Al Jazeera conference
Among the speakers listed is Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal, head of the terrorist group abroad. Meshaal was previously the leader of the group after the assassinations of Ismail Haniyeh and Yahya Sinwar, but now lives in Qatar. He survived an assassination attempt by Israel.
Mustafa Barghouti – Palestinian doctor, activist and politician and secretary general of the Palestinian National Initiative (PNI) – will be another speaker. Barghouti was previously seen as a politician committed to non-violence and ran for president of the Palestinian Authority against Mahmoud Abbas in 2005.
He is nevertheless extremely hostile to Israel and has declared that “perhaps the most important achievement of [October 7] it is because he caused the failure of the Zionist project of resolving the Palestinian question by normalizing relations with Arab countries. » He also praised Sinwar.
Several of the other speakers are linked to Al Jazeera or Qatari state systems, and others are academics with a history of strong anti-Israeli or anti-Western rhetoric, such as Sahar Khamis and Myriam François.
The conference program itself is primarily focused on Palestinian resistance, using social media to change perceptions about “genocide against the Palestinians” and the advancement of Arab states.
