Microsoft announced that Microsoft 365 users must enable support for multi-factor authentication (MFA) by February 9, otherwise they will not be able to sign in to the service’s admin center.
“Implementing multi-factor authentication in the Microsoft 365 admin center significantly reduces the risk of account compromise, prevents unauthorized access, and protects sensitive data,” Microsoft writes in a statement cited by BleepingComputer.
Similar rules have already been introduced for Azure and Entra, and the idea is that all Microsoft services will eventually require MFA.
