Anti-ICE Protestors Douse Themselves in Milk to Fight Off Pepper Spray at Cannabis Facility in California – RedState

A large -scale immigration and customs raid (ICE) in Glass House Farms, an eminent cannabis installation in Camallo, in the county of Ventura, turned into a volatile confrontation on Thursday, while federal agents ran up against demonstrators and held multiple undocumented agricultural workers.

The operation, which seems to have been supported by the troops of the National Guard, led to a large condemnation of local democrats and activists, many of whom joined a large crowd of demonstrators who threatened to overthrow the hostile situation for ice agents.

The RAID started around 9:30 am Thursday morning at the establishment, which is located on Laguna Road and Las Posas Road. He was carried out alongside a simultaneous operation in another location of Glass House Farms in Carpinteria, in the county of Santa Barbara. Ice agents, supported by military -style vehicles, were sealed on the Camillo site with a crime scene from the American border patrol.

The videos captured agents in pursuit of workers in the fields, with reports of at least one person held under the threat of a firearm and several American citizens. It is estimated that 12 to 15 workers were held in the installation of Camillo, although some sources suggest up to 100 detentions on the two sites.

What initially seemed to be a peaceful manifestation became chaotic when ice agents deployed tear gas, smoke cartridges and rubber bullets to disperse the increasingly agitated crowd. The video taken on the scene shows something other than a peaceful demonstration, despite the declarations of some on social networks.

At 12:35 p.m., tear gas have forced some demonstrators to flee, others using milk to counter its effects. The County Fire Service of Ventura declared a mass incident, transporting three people in hospitals at 2:00 p.m. due to exposure to tear gas.

The RAID follows a series of ice operations in the county of Ventura, including June swalls which arrested more than 30 agricultural workers, causing shortages of labor. A recent increase in funding of $ 75 billion in ice, which is part of a set of application of the $ 175 billion immigration law, has fueled these large -scale operations, despite previous promises to protect agricultural workers.

The Democratic Party of the County of Ventura and the local Catholic dioceses denounced the raids, while the County of Los Angeles and eight cities announced a trial against the Trump administration, qualifying the tactics of unconstitutional ice. Glass House Farms confirmed compliance with ice search mandates in a declaration on X, but neither the ice nor the Ministry of Internal Security commented.
