April on Disney+ and Hulu—Maul is back, plus dozens of new movies and shows
April is shaping up to be a really good month for Disney+ and Hulu subscribers, with a boatload of new movies (new and old), new series premieres, and returning/continuing seasons (Daredevil: Born Again And American idol) and more, spread across the two services that are still merging into one app before the Hulu app ends this year. And while we wait for that, it still makes sense to combine what’s new from Hulu and Disney+ into one handy post.
For fans of one of Star Wars’ deadliest and most polarizing characters, Disney+’s hot topic this April will undoubtedly be Star Wars: Maul – Lord of Shadowsthe premiere of which is eagerly awaited on April 6. The new animated series brings back the iconic red-faced former Sith Lord and sees him try to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a new planet, take revenge on the Empire, and take a disillusioned Jedi Padawan under his wing. The first two episodes will be available on Disney+ on April 6, then weekly thereafter.
Other Disney+ highlights in April include a new season of American Idol (April 13), Disneynature Orangutantold by Frozen star Josh Gad (Earth Day, April 22) and new episodes of a handful of popular shows.
Hulu is not left out, however. The service offers realistic and action-packed British series Atomic (April 1) on its screens, with Game of Thrones star Alfie Allen and Toast of London excellent actor from Clem Fandango, Shazed Latif. The two men – a drug dealer and a former insurgent – form an unlikely partnership and find themselves in possession of a truck loaded with uranium and must transport it across the desert while the CIA, MI6 and other nefarious organizations hunt them.
The big film coming to Hulu is that of Park Chan-Wook (Oldboy, the servant) Korean psychological thriller No other choice (April 24), about a man who gets laid off after 25 years and desperately tries to find a new one. To secure the position, he decides to track down and “eliminate” all the other candidates.
Of course, Hulu also has all kinds of new licensed movie titles. Notable films include The devil wears Prada50 first dates, Napoleon Dynamiteall the Night at the museum And Shrek movies, 21 And 22 Jump in the streetand many more.

Hulu is owned by Disney and has produced several hit titles such as Hellraiser, Prey, Love, Victor, Only Murders in the Building, and The Handmaid’s Tale. Hulu has also partnered with FX to offer subscribers next-day access to shows premiering on the network.
