As Hamas incitement rises, more Israelis enter West Bank’s Area A
Officials said Hamas encouraged incitement to hatred in these areas, while attacks carried out by a single actor remained a concern. They urged Israelis to respect the law and avoid Palestinian Authority towns.
A growing number of Israelis are illegally entering Area A of the West Bank, creating life-threatening situations that could result in lynching or murder, security sources said. walla on Sunday.
Officials said Hamas was fueling incitement in these areas, while attacks by a single actor remained a concern. They urged Israelis to respect the law and avoid Palestinian Authority towns.
Security sources said any incident involving an Israeli entering Area A is likely to inflame the area. Over the past year, several lynchings have been narrowly averted thanks to the IDF’s rapid intervention and coordination with other security agencies.
In one case, a disabled person was located in a refugee camp near Gush Etzion, and in another case, Palestinians chased and destroyed an Israeli vehicle in Nablus.
Officials added that without deterrent measures against Israelis who knowingly break the law, the phenomenon will continue. They described the atmosphere in the West Bank as very tense due to nationalist crime and continued incitement. One source said the current trajectory poses serious risks.

IDF helps Israelis who accidentally enter West Bank
On Thursday evening, the Israeli army went to extraordinary lengths to extract a mentally unstable Israeli who had entered Hebron.
On Friday, an Israeli woman entered Jericho and fled an apartment with eight Palestinians after realizing she was in a Palestinian town. She was rescued by civil administration officers, with the help of Palestinian security forces, and Israeli police opened an investigation.
Security officials said a series of recent cases in the West Bank illustrate this growing trend, including illegal or erroneous entries and dangerous clashes in Kalkilya and Nablus.
They cited the killing of Amnon Mukhtar in Kalkilya in August 2024 as a reminder of the potential consequences. “The next disaster is only a matter of time,” said a security source.
