Ben Rice’s 9th-inning bomb, Cody Bellinger’s pivotal performance help Yankees gain ground on Blue Jays
Toronto – The Yankees did not play a sound game for the second consecutive evening, but they took ground in first place Blue Jays with a 5-4 victory on Tuesday.
Ben Rice became the hero of victory tied in series, breaking 4-4 equality in the ninth with a Home Run in solo from Toronto closer to Jeff Hoffman. The explosion of the first step was the 15th of the year of Rice and helped put the Yankees three games behind the Blue Jays of the American League East.
This also allowed the Yankees to overcome another Anthony Volpe error.
With the pitch of Tim Hill, Myles Straw running and the Yankees in mind, 4-2, Volpe has short-circuited a ground for the second consecutive match to start the sixth round.
