Best Artificial Tree Deals
Our favorite artificial Christmas tree was an easy favorite among interior designers who helped us test and review them. One assembler called it “the Hermes of Christmas trees” and it looked both good with its evergreen branches and bright built-in LED lights. The branches are easy to hang ornaments on thanks to the slight upward slope, and a mix of needle types give it great texture. This is an excellent investment tree for sale.
Flocked trees are covered in artificial snow to give it an extra Christmassy look, and our favorite flocked pattern is this tree from King of Christmas. Of the trees we tested, this tree really nailed the look of fresh snow, which is difficult to achieve artificially. The branches are nice and thick, but it’s a little harder to hang ornaments around the flocking.
Of all the trees we tested, not only was this the cheapest one we liked, but it was also rated as the easiest artificial Christmas tree to inflate thanks to its flexible branches. The easy fluff makes it look much fuller and more natural than trees that aren’t easy to do this with, and makes this less expensive tree look upscale. There is a wrapped pole in the middle which adds to the realistic look.
Best smart lighting deals
These lights are the star of my garage this holiday season and one of my favorite sets that I’ve tested for my smart guide to Christmas lights. After being stored for a year, these lights easily reconnected to my app and Wi-Fi without issue, and it was easy to take a quick photo with the app to remap the lights to my current setup. I love the range of designs you can find or create in the Twinkly app, and it was easy to set a timer so they turn on and off at the right time.
These are my top choice for smart Christmas lights. You can put them on your house, your walls, your tree, your balcony railing, whatever you want! Then use the app and your camera to map the lights and start creating the designs you want. Like the channels above, there are plenty of templates you can choose or create within the app, along with simple controls all around.
Best Permanent Outdoor Lighting Deals
We’ve tested tons of outdoor permanent lights this holiday season, and this set from Eufy is one of the standouts. WIRED reviewer Kat Merck found the app easy to navigate for choosing colors and schedules for her lights, and loved the wide offering of holiday presets she can take advantage of. There’s an AI feature to create personalized light shows, and the Eufy S4 lights work with the Matter protocol, so they can sync with smart home ecosystems from Apple, Google, and Alexa.
If sales aren’t getting permanent outdoor lights cheap enough for you, you’ll be pleased to see that our budget bundle is on sale for a similar price to what you’d get regular smart lights for. WIRED reviewer Martin Cizmar is happy with these lights at home, but he cautions that there’s annoying AI in the app that you have to work around to access the regular controls. Once you click on them, these lights are easy to control and customize, just like you would any smart light set.
Keep an eye on the model and tightness; While the 150ft version has an IP65 rating for the lights and an IP67 for the power adapter, the 50ft and 100ft models have an IP65 rating for the light kits but no weather protection for the power adapter, so it must be in an enclosed outlet. If you are using an outdoor outlet without weather protection, upgrade to the 150 foot size.
