Best Black Friday Chromebook deals

Black Friday deals on Chromebooks started at Amazon, Best Buy and other retailers last week and Before Thanksgiving – welcome to Amazon Black Week, followed by Cyber Monday. I’ve rounded up the best Chromebook deals for PCWorld over the past few years (including Black Friday and Prime Day) and they’re usually the best deals of the year.
Black Friday is not just one day anymore, and I already see a great deal on the Lenovo IdeaPad 3i that I recommend you buy right now.
My collected offers depend quite heavily on price. Times are tough right now, and I’m adding some used/refurbished Chromebook deals as a sort of “ultra-budget” category option. However, the following deals are all new devices: budget Chromebooks, then mid-range devices.
I’ve been following Chromebook deals for several years, so I have a good idea of what to buy and how much you should pay. In each category, I’ve listed the best Chromebook deals I can find, followed by an explanation of why I think you should buy them. Check out our list of the best Chromebooks for more ideas.
Best Black Friday Refurbished Chromebook Deals
- Acer Chromebook Plus 515 (Restored), (Core i3-1215U/8GB RAM/128GB SSD/15.6″ 1080p Display), $166.99 (11% off at Walmart)
- Acer Chromebook 315 (Renewed) (Celeron N4500/4GB RAM/64GB SSD, 15.6 inch 1080p display), $107.99 (10% off at Amazon)
- Dell 3100 (Restored) (Celeron N4020/4GB RAM/32GB SSD, 11.6-inch 768p display), $99.00 at Walmart
- Acer Chromebook Spin 512 (Refurbished) (Celeron N5030/8GB RAM/64GB SSD, 12-inch 1366×912 display), $99.99 at Newegg
This Black Friday, I’m trying something different: adding the option for refurbished and used Chromebooks from Amazon’s Renewed program, which have a 30-day warranty. (Walmart Restored has a 90-day return window.) Use it if you need it!
My favorite deal is gone, but the Acer Chromebook Plus 515 at the top of the list looks pretty solid: It’s a mid-range Chromebook Plus device priced just a hair above budget. If you’re looking for something cheaper, the Acer Chromebook 315 will save you around $30 on the budget deals below.
The Renewed program absolutely hides some stinkers, however: Chromebooks with processors that are more than a decade old. For now, the Dell 3100 and Acer Spin 512 listed are both near the bottom of the barrel – or at least what I can live with. They are small, slow, but functional.
Best budget Black Friday Chromebook deals
- Lenovo IdeaPad 3i, (Celeron N4500, 8 GB RAM, 64 GB SSD, 15.6-inch 1080p display), $149.00 (19% off at Amazon)
- Acer Chromebook 315 (Celeron N4500/4 GB RAM/64 GB SSD, 15.6 inch 1080p display), $119.00 (60% off at Best Buy)
- Asus CX15 (Celeron N4500/4 GB RAM/128 GB SSD, 15.6 inch 1080p screen), $139.00 (37% off at Walmart)
- Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 (MediaTek Kompanio 520, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB SSD, 14-inch 1080p screen), $149.00 (63% off at Best Buy)
- HP 14-inch Chromebook (Celeron N4500/4 GB RAM/64 GB SSD, 14-inch 768p display), $119.00 (64% off at Best Buy)
The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i is your ideal deal: there are no compromises here, at a fantastic price. My recommendation is to buy this Chromebook now and not worry if another better deal appears.
Normally, budget Chromebooks are all about compromises. The other deals listed here generally don’t include 8GB of RAM, which I would prefer – they offer 4GB instead. This limits the number of tabs open at any time.
These entries are very similar, but I recommend the Asus CX15 as a second choice because it offers more storage and a three-month trial to Google’s Gemini subscription, which gives it a bit of an edge. But the Acer Chromebook 315 has made another appearance on the list: $119 is a great deal, and it might convince you. The downside is the 4GB of RAM, which will open fewer tabs than an 8GB machine, but it’s not a huge drawback.
Don’t be afraid of Mediatek Kompanio chips: they’re just Arm processors, and Chrome OS runs perfectly on them. In fact, the Kompanio is a significantly better processor, with lower power consumption (better battery life!) and better performance too.
Why include the Lenovo 14-inch Chromebook at the end? Because the price is actually lower than the previous one offers I saw. In other words, Amazon is offering a sale after a sale, even if it doesn’t really advertise it as such.
Best Mid-Range Black Friday Chromebook Deals
- Asus CX14 (Intel Core 3 N355/8 GB RAM/128 GB SSD/14-inch 1080p screen), $249.00 (42% off at Best Buy)
- Asus CM30 (Kompanio 520/8 GB RAM/128 GB SSD, 10.5 inch 1920 × 1200 screen), $279.00 (18% off at Walmart)
- Acer Chromebook Plus 514 (Intel Core i3-N305/8 GB RAM/128 GB SSD, 14-inch 1080p display), $287.99 at Amazon
- Lenovo Flex 5i Chromebook Plus (Core i3-1315U/8GB RAM/128GB SSD, 14-inch 1920×1200 display), $349.00 (42% off at Best Buy)
- HP 14-inch Chromebook Plus x360 (Core i3-N305, 8GB RAM/128GB UFS, 14-inch 1080p display), $382.79 (32% off at Walmart)
- Asus Chromebook Plus CX5601, (Core i3-1215U/8 GB RAM/128 GB SSD/16 inch 1920×1200 screen), $479.00 (20% off at Best Buy)
A good mid-range or premium Chromebook includes at least 8GB of RAM, a robust processor, and a 1080p or better display. All of this is admissible.
For now, I recommend buying the Asus CX14 at the top of the list. In my opinion, it offers the best value for money: it ticks all the hardware boxes without requiring you to splurge. If you want to buy a Chromebook Plus, the Acer Chromebook Plus 514 is the best choice. Oddly, this isn’t marked as a sale, but the “base” price is simply better than other sales on competing devices.
Otherwise, the Lenovo Flex 5i or HP x360 are good bets for a Chromebook Plus device. (Do you need a Chromebook Plus? This article helps you answer that question.) The Flex 5i comes with a Gemini Advanced subscription from Google, which includes 2TB of cloud storage and Google’s latest AI model.
The Asus CM30 is a tablet, not a clamshell Chromebook, but if that doesn’t bother you, the specs are excellent.

FAQs
When is Black Friday?
Officially, this year’s Black Friday takes place on Friday, November 28, 2025. Cyber Monday will take place the following Monday, December 1, 2025. Amazon’s “Black Week” begins on November 20.
What should you pay for a Chromebook Black Friday deal?
Retailers have already started offering discounts on Chromebooks to prepare for the official Black Friday date. Sales are expected to increase further as Black Friday approaches. Retailers certainly haven’t hesitated to add early sales to unload their inventory before the Black Friday madness begins! Just beware of “sneaky season,” where retailers boost sales, then raise prices, and SO another discount for Black Friday.
Budget Chromebooks might cost around $150, maybe less, but that may mean compromises on some of the features we think you’ll like. We try to include some of these models though, in case you’re just looking for the absolute lowest prices. (Refurbished models may cost even less, but we don’t include them.)
Good consumer Chromebooks now cost between $250 and $350, as noted above – that’s the minimum for a Chromebook we recommend. A Black Friday or Cyber Monday steal could lower prices even further.
What features should I look for in a Black Friday Chromebook?
We always prioritize three things when shopping for a Chromebook deal: memory, screen size and resolution, and processor. There’s also a big deal for this Cyber Monday and that’s the Chromebook support window.
You’ll still find retailers trying to unload Chromebooks with 4GB of RAM, a 768p screen, and an ancient processor. We will still list products with these specifications, if warranted, as budget Chromebooks. But we really think you deserve a Chromebook with 8GB of RAM, a 1080p display or better (with screen sizes larger than 13 inches if possible), and a relatively modern processor. We don’t give much weight to the processor, if only because a Chromebook doesn’t need a lot of power.
Please note, “HD” does not mean 1080p! That basically means 768p, which is going to be a little hard on your eyes. “Full HD” or “FHD” is equivalent to the 1080p display you should get.
Our recommended processors include Intel Celerons, Intel Pentiums, Intel Core chips, Ryzen processors from AMD, and Arm chips from Mediatek or Qualcomm. All of these have their pros and cons, although the performance differences probably won’t matter as much as the extra memory.
More memory (8 GB instead of 4 GB RAM) will allow for more browser tabs and a smoother browsing experience. A 1080p display will provide a comfortable laptop-like viewing experience. Built-in storage doesn’t really matter, although an SSD of at least 32GB is best for storing apps, screenshots, etc.
If you’re familiar with our lengthy explainer on laptops and Chromebooks, you know that one of the potential pitfalls is purchasing a Chromebook whose support window is expiring soon. Google now supports new Chromebooks for up to 10 years, so that’s less of a concern. We think this could bring prices down, but for very old hardware. We try to monitor that.
